Our local affiliate has been honored to receive three grants from Sears Holdings program.  We have drawn from our local veterans who have been willing to give of their time and talents to help their fellow veterans.  Marine Bud Perry has been a wonderful leader for the troops.  He gave over 200 hours to build a room addition for a fellow Marine.  Over the last year, we have worked with 11 veterans in doing some kind of home repair or modifications.

Heroes at Homesm was launched by Rebuilding Together and Sears Holdings in May 2007. Heroes at Home strives to improve the lives of all low-income U.S. service members, veterans, and military families in need across America by making necessary repairs, improvements, and modifications to their homes.

The donations for Heroes at Home are collected by Sears and Kmart through in-store fundraising campaigns. To date, these campaigns have generated over $5 million in donations. This funding is distributed by the National Office through an affiliate grant process. As more donations are collected, the number of Heroes at Home projects will also increase.
